Crescent Technology Terms & Warranty
1. By clicking on the "Create New Order" button: you are acknowledging that you have read, understand, and agree to the electronics repair terms and conditions agreement below.
2. General: You have requested service from Crescent Technology, Inc., hereafter referred to as Crescent. Crescent will diagnose and repair your electronic merchandise for a fee as described in paragraph three below. In an effort to better serve you, please provide all items which may be necessary to complete diagnosis and repair of your unit including AC adapter, battery, recovery disks, hard drive, and any additional item which is described as part of the problem. Ex.: memory cards, net cards, and other external devices which may not function with the system and will be required to assist in diagnosis of the problem you would like repaired.
3. Services and Diagnostic Fees: Crescent will perform all services deemed necessary and reasonable to properly complete the repair of your electronic item, unless specifically declined by you. Our flat rate repairs which do not include major parts are $175.00 (unless otherwise noted by virtue of small business membership or prior agreement in writing). If for any reason the cost of your repair is to exceed $175.00, you will be notified and a quote will be provided. Upon your approval, we will proceed with your repair at the quoted price. A deposit of no less than 50% will be required when ordering parts which are not in stock. If, for any reason, you decline to repair you electronic, a diagnostic labor/non-repair fee of $65.00 will still apply to all orders unless previously agreed to in writing. This may include, but is not limited to electronics unable to be repaired and quotes declined by customers. Prices are subject to change as repair costs are estimated based on initial inspection and cannot always be accurately determined without further diagnosis. For our expedited service a Expedited Flat Rate Repair will be $275 and if parts are needed a quote will be provided with a non refundable dianostic labor fee of $115.
4. Payment: Payment is due upon completion of your repair and will be required prior to shipping or at time of pick up. Crescent accepts cash and credit (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express). We do not accept personal, business, or third party checks without previous authorization. Every effort will be made to contact you for payment after repairs are completed, however, if you do not respond within 60 days, your property will be considered abandoned and, as such, will automatically become the property of Crescent in lieu of payment for services rendered, whether repaired or not, and any and all deposits made will be forfeited.
5. Damage/Loss in Transit: Crescent insures all it's shipments to and from customers. However, it is the responsibility of the customer to take all reasonable steps to ensure that merchandise is not lost or damaged in transit. It is your responsibility to properly package you electronic merchandise in an adequate size box, with sufficient packing material, and to properly & fully seal the box using a shipping grade tape. If you feel the box or it packing contents are insufficient to safely ship your electronic equipment, it is your responsibility to contact Crescent to obtain adequate packing material. In addition, you should ship your package from an authorized UPS facility (not a drop box) and obtain and retain a receipt indicating the time and date of shipment, as well as the actual weight. In the case of packages damaged in transit, if UPS deems the claim to be invalid due to insufficient or inadequate packing on the part of the customer and Crescent supplied sufficient or adequate packing material that was used improperly or not at all, any and all claims of liability against Crescent will be considered null and void. In the case of packages lost in transit, compensation shall be at the sole discretion of Crescent and subject to proof of value by the customer and shall be pro-rated based on the age of the equipment and standard life expectancy of said equipment. Crescent reserves the right to compensate customers for in the form of refund, replacement, or repair of any merchandise lost or damaged in transit and insured by Crescent with it's shipper of choice as they see fit. In the case of packages or merchandise shipped by the customer at their expense, it will be their sole responsibility of the customer to ensure proper packaging, insurance, and proof of deposit with shipper or its agent. Crescent assumes no liability in transit, express or implied, for packages shipped to them and not at the expense of Crescent.
6. Data and Software: We will make every effort to contact you; however, 72 hours after our initial request, your password may be removed for testing purposes. Unless otherwise agreed, Crescent is not liable for any data or software which may be stored on your computer. Due to circumstances beyond our control, data and software may be permanently lost during the repair of your electronic. We strongly recommend that whenever possible, you back up any and all important data from your hard drive in order to avoid possible loss of critical information. You agree to hold Crescent, it's owner, and all it's employees harmless from any and all damages, costs, and expenses which may be incurred as a result of any loss, defect, or damage to any software or data, whether incurred during the course of or as a result of Crescent's service or otherwise. If service to be performed involves data transfer or software installation, your represent that you have the legal right to copy the information, to use the software, and agree to the terms of the software license, and you authorize Crescent to transfer the information and accept such terms on your behalf in the course of your service. Crescent assumes no responsibility for loss of business, revenue, or income which may occur as a result of the time it takes to repair your electronic item including any necessary warranty service.
7. Warranty: In servicing your electronic, Crescent warrants said service will be performed in a professional and timely manner. Services and parts carry a warranty as described below in sections a, b, and c which may be applied or revoked at the sole discretion of Crescent. No additional warranty is expressed or implied unless otherwise stated in writing. Any and all requests for refunds related to warranty or guarantee of service will be at the sole discretion of Crescent and will be subject to withholding of any and all diagnostic labor fees, non-refundable deposits, shipping costs, and any other previously agreed to fees. Should you decline to repair your system, there is no warranty, express or implied and Crescent makes no guarantees about the functionality or condition of the system upon return. This includes, but is not limited to systems diagnosed and unrepaired which were subjected to physical abuse, environmental damage, liquid spills, attempted repair or alteration by others (regardless of level of expertise), unresolved software/data issues, or any severe or excessive damage. In addition, any repaired electronic item which has been subjected to physical abuse, environmental damage, liquid spills, attempted repair or alteration by others (regardless of level of expertise), software/data issues, or any severe or excessive damage, may suffer additional problems or symptoms which were previously unable to be diagnosed and may require additional services at a later date which may incur additional costs. Any compensation for services previously rendered will be at the sole discretion of Crescent.
a. Limited 90 day warranty on all repairs*
Warranty covers all repairs regarding the original repair performed within a 90 day period.
b. Limited 90 day warranty on labor*
Warranty covers all labor charges that are related to failure of the repaired component within a 90 day period.
c. Limited 30 day warranty on parts*
Warranty covers all parts for 30 days from date of receipt for purchase
*All warranties specifically exclude damages due to physical abuse, environmental damage, liquid spills, attempted repair or alteration by others (regardless of level of expertise), software/data issues, or any damages deemed by Crescent to be unrelated to the original repair performed. Warranties do not extend to data recovery or software installation or removal. All services involving data recovery or software installation or removal will be on an as needed basis and will be billed as such.
